Quiz: England X1 in 90’s

During the 90’s, England’s national football team had mixed fortunes under the guidance and stewardship of managers Bobby Robson, Graham Taylor, Terry Venables, Glenn Hoddle and Kevin Keegan. The highs included reaching the semi-finals of the 1990 World Cup finals in Italy and it almost came home in the 1996 European Championships.

The lows will certainly include the dismal performance at the European Championship in Sweden in 1992, did we not like that! Or the controversial exit on penalties to old foes Argentina as the Three Lions exited the 1998 World Cup finals in France at the knock out stages.

During that decade, England utilised and capped 100’s of players but how many can you name from the most common X1 for each season? Take the test here
