Footballing Icons: Duncan EDWARDS

Manchester United and England international Duncan Edwards was tragically taken too soon aged just 21 when he sadly passed away shortly after the Munich air disaster in 1958. In his five years as a professional footballer at Old Trafford he helped the Reds win two league titles and amassed 177 appearances, scoring 21 goals from midfield. Whilst on international duty he won 18 caps and scored 5 goals for the Three Lions.

“He was the best player I ever saw, or am likely to see in my life. If I was asked to name a team of the players I played with, his name would be the first one I would put in, no question about it.”
