Everton 2 Leeds United 3

The opening day fixtures of the 1990/91 First Division season pitted newly promoted Leeds United with a tricky trip to Goodison Park to take on Colin Harvey’s Everton side. The newly promoted side managed by Howard Wilkinson took an unexpected three goal lead before the Toffees rallied with a second half comeback but they couldn’t find a equaliser giving the Peacocks all three points. Not only did the game see five goals but it had the added drama of a missed penalty, the infamous Neville Southall half time protest, Speed scoring against his future club and Varadi scoring against his old club. Sit back and enjoy the match highlights!
