Billy Meredith currently holds the record for being the oldest first team player to ever play for both Manchester City (49 years) and Manchester United (46 years) at club level whilst also holding the international record for Wales (45 years).

The talented and durable Welshmen played over 700 matches during his time in Manchester where he won two first division titles and an FA Cup for the reds and a second division title and FA Cup for the blues. He was also capped 39 times for Wales and was instrumental in the setup of the players trade union.
