The 1992 FA Youth Cup winners, Manchester United travelled across the M62 to take on a talented Leeds United youth side in the 2nd leg of the 1993 Youth Cup Final. The Yorkshire side managed by Paul Hart had a two goal first leg advantage over Eric Harrison’s Reds thanks to goals from Jamie Forrester and Noel Whelan in front of a 30,562 crowd at Old Trafford. Another big 31,037 crowd at Elland Road roared the Peacocks on to a 2-1 2nd leg victory with goals from Jamie Forrester and Matthew Smithard to help Leeds United win the FA Cup Youth Cup for the first time in their history.
